CalderTail Waggers — Terms of Service

1. Services Provided

CalderTail Waggers offers professional dog walking services, home visits, and a dog taxi service in and around the Calderdale, Halifax and Queensbury areas.

  • Group walks will typically include no more than 6 dogs at any one time, ensuring each dog receives proper care and attention.

  • All dogs will receive at least 45 minutes of walking/exercise, not including travel time, although this may vary depending on the breed and health of the dog(s).

  • Home visits will include at least 30 minutes of care, play, and attention, tailored to your pet's needs.

  • Dog Taxi Service is available for transport to and from appointments, vet visits, or other locations as required within a reasonable area. The dogs will be transported in a temperature-controlled van, fitted with secure compartments to ensure comfort and safety.

 2. Operating Hours

Services are provided Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, unless otherwise agreed.

I also offer a no-obligation, free meet & greet outside of my usual working hours for your convenience. This allows us to meet, discuss your dog’s needs, and make sure we’re a good fit before any bookings are made.

3. Booking and Payment

All bookings are managed through the My Pet Walker app, where you can:

·        Book and manage appointments

·        Add important details about your dog(s), including health, character, and preferences

·        Arrange secure payments

·        View and download invoices whenever needed

Payments are required at the time of booking, unless otherwise agreed.
Please note that cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment are non-refundable

4. Dog Welfare & Transport

All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, worming, and flea treatments.
Dogs should be well-socialised and non-aggressive towards other dogs and people, unless otherwise discussed.

Transport will be provided in a temperature-controlled van, fitted with several safe and secure compartments to ensure dogs travel comfortably and securely. During walks and outings, I will always carry fresh water, poo bags, training treats, and spare leads.

Clients are asked to provide a well-fitting harness for their dog. If preferred, a collar can be used, but retractable leads are not accepted for safety reasons.

Dogs will be collected and returned with their muddy paws cleaned to ensure they are returned in a tidy condition, minimising any mess in your home.

Clients are also asked to provide a waterproof coat for their dog on rainy days, ensuring they stay dry and comfortable during walks.

5. Owner Responsibilities

Owners must provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding any medical conditions, behavioural issues, or special care requirements.
Any changes to your dog’s health or behaviour should be communicated as soon as possible.

 6. Home Access and Security

By using CalderTail Waggers’ services, you may provide access to your home, along with keys, passcodes, or other security information.
All such information will be treated as strictly confidential and stored securely. Keys and access details will never be shared and will only be used to carry out agreed services.

 7. Insurance and DBS Check

CalderTail Waggers holds public liability insurance for all services provided. Proof of insurance can be provided upon request.

I am also fully DBS checked and have completed Pet First Aid and CPR training (CPD Certified), which can be shown upon request for your peace of mind.

8. Emergencies

If you cannot be reached, CalderTail Waggers reserves the right to seek veterinary care for your dog. Any costs incurred will be the owner’s responsibility.

 9. Cancellations by CalderTail Waggers

I reserve the right to cancel a booking due to circumstances beyond my control or in the event of extreme adverse weather conditions where it would be unsafe or unsuitable to walk or visit your dog(s).
In such cases, you will be notified as soon as possible and offered the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

 10. GDPR and Privacy

All personal data, including contact details, dog information, and security details, will be handled in full compliance with GDPR regulations.
